Wednesday Evening at High Trails

Everyone had a great time today! The snow was a fun obstacle to overcome - and more importantly, it was fun to explore in.

The snow died down this afternoon, allowing discovery groups to spend about half the time inside and half the time outside. We heard many excited conversations at each table during dinner as each 6th grader shared the highlights of his or her day with the rest of the cabin.

While we didn't get extra play in the snow this afternoon, students did spend time working on their skits for tomorrow night's evening program. We are planning some exciting recreational activities for tomorrow afternoon.

Everyone enjoyed a good dinner and the Halloween cookies for dessert were a huge hit. The Hoedown and Nature Carnival tonight were high points in many of the students' days.

We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

  7. Rissi-
I was worried that you guys had tons of snow and couldn't get out and do the planned activities and that everyone would be disappointed that it didn't go well. Sounds to me like this has been PERFECT! I'm so glad all you 6th graders are having so much fun. I'd say you missed 2 snow days but it really doesn't sound like you're "missing" anything! Keep havin fun guys. We're all anxiously awaiting your return so we can hear all about it. Oh, and your brother is really missing you- he's gone absolutely crazy recording tv shows he doesn't want you to miss. LOL! Lotsa love- mom, dad, Gavin, and uncle Ry. Grandma says she misses you like crazy too. See ya tomorrow!!

  9. Hi Ruthie!

I'll bet all this snow in the mountains reminds you of living in Black Forest. How beautiful everything must be! Stay warm, draw some pictures for us, and be prepared to tell me about all your wonderful adventures!

    xxo -- See you tomorrow!
